The geopolitical dimension of the American-French- Chinese rivalry in the Sahel area

Abstract

This paper deals with the geopolitical dimension of the rivalry of the great powers in the Sahel, which is a vital space for traditional and new powers in the international arena namely France, the U.S.A and China, this is because of the geopolitic features of the area And its comprehensiveness with its strategic depth of the Western security complex. The study concluded that the geopolitics of the Sahel and the shifts in the international arena made it a useful area for international rivalry without the serious desire to find solutions to the conflicts that are tearing the region apart and to achieve human security for its peoples.
