Abstract

This study- the Syrian crisis through new media- aims at shedding light on the Syrian crisis through the new means of communication and especially to figure out the role of Facebook in conveying the sufferings of the Syrian people through the crisis, depending on the descriptive method in order to analyze a purposive sample of a refugee suffering page during two months of 2020. One of the findings of our study is that the refugee suffering page greatly expanded the narration of the news of Syrian refugees in the State of Lebanon and was able to cover the largest possible amount of their suffering in its various forms, while its coverage of European regions and Turkey was somewhat minimal. The topic most discussed in the page is the different suffering of the Syrian refugees, where the physical and psychological suffering took the biggest share. This is because the Syrian refugees were subjected to murder and assault on individuals in addition to racism on the part of indigenous people, the suffering of the syrian refugees was concentrated more specifically in the Arab countries than the countries of Europe.
