Abstract

Since the fight against terrorism is an integral part of the priorities of the Security Council in its undertaking to maintain international peace and security based on the authority granted to it under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations, it has issued a series of successive resolutions accompanying the development and exacerbation of terrorist crimes, the most important of which are: 1373 of 2001 and Resolution 2178 of 2014, as well as Resolution 2253 of 2015, in which the Security Council obliged member states to amend and harmonize their penal system and the content of these resolutions.

These resolutions had an impact on Algerian legislation, which was mainly manifested in the issuance of Law No. 16-02 on June 19, 2016, supplementing Ordinance No. 66-156 containing the Algerian Penal Code, which prompted us to highlight through this paper the most important contents of these resolutions, and to research in the legal basis for the national legislature’s commitment to these resolutions
