Abstract

The rapid evolution of electronic data exchange via the Internet , has crucially influenced the way in which commercial transactions and operations are concluded, with the emergence of so-called electronic contracts where the consumer is in the majority of cases one of his parties. It is known that the consumer is the most vulnerable part of the economic equation, as he lacks experience and knowledge in the field of information technology, and is exposed to the pressures exerted on him to conclude contracts without the presence of a real will to acquire a good or service, these and other reasons have prompted the various comparative legislations to enact legislation aimed at consumer protection
