Teen suicide: Psycho-dynamic reading of psychic functioning for a case of suicide attempt

The current study aims at trying to reveal the nature of the psychic functioning of adolescents who have previously a suicide attempt, especially focusing on the quality and characteristics of their psychic functioning , the components of which are: The type of anxiety, conflict, the nature of object relationship, and the defensive mechanisms used by them, through examining the strength of the ego . The study was applied to one case of studied adolescent girls, based on the clinical approach using the following tools: Direct clinical observation and semi- directed clinical interview, and the test of the Rorschach. The results indicated that psychic functioning psychological of adolescent girls who were admitted to a suicide attempt is fragile functioning, The adolescents who have previously a suicide attempt have a fragile psychology profile, characterized by the apparent fragility of the ego, anxiety and avoidance as a defense mechanism.
