To what extent do Sudanese Auditors comply with the requirements of International Auditing Standard 2410, in reviewing the Interim Financial Reports of Companies listed on Khartoum Stock Exchange

Abstract

The present study aimed at determining the Sudanese Auditors' adherence to the requirements of the International Auditing  Standard 2410 in connection with reviewing the interim financial reports. To achieve that goal, a questionnaire, designed and distributed to (95) Auditors of the Accounting and Auditing offices in Sudan.The study ascertained the high level of commitment of the Sudanese Auditors in applying the requirements of the International Auditing Standard 2410, in its overall perspectives, from their point of view. The study recommends the necessity of launching training sessions that should be imposed by the Accounting and Auditing Profession Regulatory Council in Sudan, including the International Auditing Standard 2410, obligating auditors to undertake training courses in International Auditing Standards, and establishing national audit standards to facilitate the implementation of the auditing process as well. The study also recommends compelling the companies listed in Khartoum Stock Exchange, in general, to submit their Interim financial statements audited by an independent external auditor, and not limiting that to the financial institutions.
