Abstract

This article questions the condition of movable cultural property in national museums in Algeria between two decisive entities, namely, the museum institution and preventive conservation. The subject stems from a doctoral study conducted through five Algerian national museums of archaeology ; these institutions as well as the collections they preserve were evaluated in relation to the implementation of conservation and preventive measures whose objective is the protection and perpetuation of this material cultural heritage. The study also underlines the reality of the management of the collections in these museums, in particular in terms of preventive conservation and its apprehension between theory and practice
