Abstract

There is no doubt that mankind and both old and modern societies’ are in
need of translation, as it is a primitive and necessary needfor crossing linguistic
barriers between societies. All society members and individuals actively take part in
rising human civilization. Some peoples or generation might exceed in their roles and
others might be an active part, passive or reactive to these changes. Different types of
translations thus appear, among which are machine translations. The latter lacks
ability before literary translations, especially that these types of texts requires a
cognitive system based on the writer’s knowledge, psychological and emotional side.
Literary text authors express their feelings, which is conspicuous in the various
literary texts, such as: stories, novels, poetry in all its forms, prose, essays, plays, and
speeches of all kinds.
Therefore, we will attempt, in this article to address automatic machine
translation obstacles of literary texts, as well as the difficulties of machine translation
negatively reflect in literary text translation in its various forms and types.
