.This study aimed at investigating the correlation of academic procrastination and academic self-esteem among first-year students of a common trunk of the department of Human and Social Sciences at the University of M’sila, as well as researching the difference between males and females in the two variables of academic procrastination and academic self-esteem, and The sample of The study consisted of (98) male and female students, who were randomly selected, and the descriptive and analytical approach of aboughazel (2012) was followed, and for the purposes of the research, the academic procrastination scale and the academic self-esteem questionnaire of elhabib (2016) were applied, as the study found a negative correlation between academic procrastination and estimating the academic self-esteem of the study sample members. The results of the study also proved that there are differences between males and females in the level of academic procrastination, and no differences between males and females in the level of academic self-esteem .
