The Cultural Proposal: the Self and the Presence of the Other "The Case of Bashir Mufti’s Novel "Mixing Seasons

The current study revolve around the projections of western cultural systems on the Algerian novelist’s narrative impact represented in Bashir Mufti’s Novel "Mixing Seasons". It aims at exploring the influence and being affected dominating on this creative text containing western ideas dealing with the idea of fragmentation of the Arab self and its loss proceeding the reception of Western actions and ideas. From the perspective of the main characters in this novel, the study attempts to approach and analyze the personality of the "killer". This latter is characterized by the absurdity of thinking and sadism of abnormal actions from one hand, from the other hand Samira Qatash" represented a female model who contradicts the characteristics of Arab women in general and Algerian one in particular.
