The philosophical spirit of the Arab Mystic Poet A Study of the Ancient Sufi Pieces of Poetry

The ancient Arabic Sufi poem is full of both spiritual meanings and aesthetic values. Probably, the intense work on ambiguity is the most prominent feature distinguishing it, and the philosophical tendency characterized the old Sufi poem is the most prominent manifestation of this renewal. Significantly, the ancient Sufi poet kept away from the ready-made connotations to practice the obscuring element over its meanings. The research aims to clarify the relationship between the old Sufi poem and some western philosophical sayings, and to determine the extent to which the Sufi poet was affected by the philosophy. A set of results have been drawn: The influence of the Sufi poet on western philosophy was manifested by employing some of the ancient spiritual and illuminating philosophy sayings, such as the unity of existence and union, in the Sufi poem as a kind of spiritual salvation. The ancient Arab mystic poet commended the sayings of western philosophy being compatible with his ontological vision of life and satisfies the thirst of his inquiries concerning writing and knowledge
