University-Student Service in Algeria: between the Current Organization and the Difficulties on the Ground

Abstract

This paper is the result of the repeated protests against the low-quality service (especially
shelter, catering and transport) that students receive. To help achieve valid research results, the
researcher takes use of his own experience as a student-service-sector employee for over twenty one
years ago.
The study follows a descriptive methodology since it seeks to investigate the organisational
structure and functions of the aforementioned sector. The study has shown that the current
organisation has failed to achieve the target objectives, and recommends that the sector restructuring
is reviewed in order to offer quality service.
